I Am A Pirate, You Are A Princess
Ok, so this post isn’t really about PlayRadioPlay!, although a fun band with a great song, like the title suggests, I am merely referring to my pirate-like self, in listening to albums before they are officially released. I realize I might lose some cred or respectability, but I just can’t wait! And U2’s leakage is no different!
First off, love the album cover. And yet, sadly, it reminded me of Hoobastank’s covers at first. But alas, I can’t think on those sort of nonsensical things. This album is really, really, good. It’s so great to see legendary bands and artists who are still relevant in today’s music. Springsteen is an example of still writing relevant songs and not following the trend of say, The Rolling Stones? Geez, if those guys called it quits after ‘82, they’d still be legendary. But, that’s another post, another day. But U2, those great Irish lads, are still making great music better than ever. They’re 2000 records still haven’t cracked my top 3, but that’s asking alot. I mean, Achtung Baby is a masterpiece, along with, The Joshua Tree, and War. But give it some time, and I could see How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb slipping into the third spot at some point. And there’s no telling how two or three years down the road No Line on the Horizon will resonate with my loins.
Anyways, I am overjoyed at the new record. It is wonderful. Life is wonderful again.
