Tiki torches

These things are awesome.  Bought some last night with my roomate.  Now… we are much cooler than we were before.  Of course, as the philosopher Ben Folds once said, “There’s always someone cooler than you.”  Therefore, we’re only as cool as the next guy with Tiki torches.  He probably has an outdoor fire pit.  Until then, we can dig the torches.  Especially with this lovely fall weather.  However, the next few days are not so “fall.”  But I signed up for that when I moved to Texas.  Observe:

80 degrees in November.  Absolutely nuts.

I ordered a few things off Amazon this afternoon.  One, a book called Jim & Casper Go To Church, which is a book of an atheist and a Christian who attend church together for a year.  Sounds interesting, but also silly, to some extent.  But, I’m totally interested in what it documents.  We’ll see.  I’m glad it wasn’t Sam Harris being the atheist, ’cause I’ve already heard most of his viewpoints about religion in his little tiny book that is packed full of anti-religion slander, which I read last year.  Anyways.

Can I just say that I’m overwhelmed at the moment with all the new music?  Keane!  The Verve!  The Cure!  Snow Patrol!  It hasn’t ended it seems like.  And of course, I’m still stuck on my retro-binge consisting of the Beatles discography and the Rolling Stones discography (nothing past Some Girls, mind you).  But hopefully I can get around to getting full-on opinions of the Margot, the new Ray, and all the aforementioned artists.  God bless America.

Oh.  Speaking of America - let’s all pray that the USPS sends my absentee ballot in the mail on time.  I’m waiting, Mr. Postal Service!!!
